This year’s International Veterinary Behaviour Meeting will be held in Slovakia, in a newly built state-of-the-art congress and sports centre 20 minutes outside Bratislava, the country’s capital. Learn about the latest development in the veterinary field in a country full of understated beauty, contrasts of ages, and great opportunities for relaxation.

This year, the meeting also includes animal welfare programme that runs in parallel to the behavioural medicine programme. The theme for the animal welfare programme is “Making Welfare Sustainable”.

Frequently asked questions
Some participants may require Visa in order to enter Slovakia. Please check with your local Slovak Consulate or Embassy. For an invitation letter for Visa purposes, please contact zatkalikova@berlina.sk. Please note letters take one week to generate. We also recommend that all participants​ take out personal travel and health insurance for the duration of their trip.​
The official language of the conference is English and dress code for IVBM 2017 is informal for all occasions.

Climate-wise, Slovakia belongs to the northern moderate climatic zone, with four seasons. The weather in Slovakia changes a lot by the influence of dry continental air from the west and the humid ocean air from the North, Baltic and Mediterranean Sea. Summer is usually characterized by hot weather with daily temperatures exceeding 30 °C,

Another alternative is to travel by bus. Buses drive regularly from the Vienna airport (Platform No. 3 – Schwechat Airport Bus Station) to the Bratislava main bus station and from Bratislava main bus station (Platforms 4, 6, 7, 8 – AS Mlynské nivy) to Šamorín bus station.
